Isla McClure has loved to bowl ever since she was a little girl, but now she is proud to say that she is the captain of the varsity and has a high score of 175 attached to her resume.

¨What I like most about bowling is that it is a fun environment, each year we get new girls on the team, and it’s new bonds we get to make, along with that, we meet so many different people in all of our games and get a chance to connect with them¨, said Isla McClure.

This season, the jv girls won 3rd place in a tournament due to their hard work. Also helping the jv team win was a jv player, Mercedes Davis, who won first place, receiving a medal. Many girls joined, which also expanded the varsity team, making the overall team bigger. Kylie Elician, a member of the team, is a senior and this will be her second year. Elician scored 121 at a bowling game, helping the team get closer to a win. Many of the girls pushed themselves this year and kept beating their high score, like Hala Ghaben, who got a 167 at conference.

¨What I like most about bowling is that it’s fun and challenging, and it gives a great chance for teamwork and sportsmanship while still competing¨, said Kylie Elicin. ¨It’s also a great bonding experience for the team¨, said Eliacin. ¨My highest score during a bowling game was 121¨, said Eliacin.  ¨My favorite game this season would have had to be the Christmas tournament because we were all very energetic and happy while still trying to be competitive¨, said Eliacin.

The team this year was a great team and had a great coach named Mr. Ward. Coach Ward brought snacks for all tournaments, games, and even helped the girls learn how to curve the ball. At the conference, he pushed all the girls on the team not to give up. He even brought up a jv player named Emily Gerth, who has a high score of 135, which he pushed her to get by teaching her to pick up the spares.

¨I get to have a positive impact on kids that I might not get to see in the classroom. Also, the bowling alley has pretty good pizza¨, said Mr.Ward.¨Senior night because I got to tell the seniors how awesome they are, and the juniors were amazing with all their help¨, said Mr.Ward.
