Lamari (Marquise) Brock, playing Albert Peterson, and Elise Porter, playing Rose Alvarez, in the school's musical Bye Bye Birdie performed outstandingly, and even the actors were proud of themselves.   Many posted the musical on social media like on instagram and said great things. There were seniors in this musical who definitely will miss their drama family; they gave it their all for the musical and for their last time on Crete´s stage.

"Everyone's getting their practice done and their routine formulated to be around display," Brock said. "I think it's the biggest time of the year for drama."

Lamari (Marquise) and Elise Porter killed the show with their performance, as the audience gave a standing ovation at the curtain call. The musical was entertaining from start to finish, and everyone's commitment to their roles was so convincing that you felt genuine sympathy for each character.

"I didn't get the role I wanted, but the role that I got, I'm beginning to really love it; it's really showing a different side of my acting skills," Brock said. ¨Yeah, I really feel like, you know, I'm developing as a full-time actor because of it."

The high school theatre presented us with a phenomenal musical. There were so many great scenes, like when Isla McClure, who played May Peterson, made everyone laugh with her jokes about trying to babysit Albert Peterson instead of letting him be him.

"I got May Peterson, and she is the lead character's mom, and I am very happy because she is who I auditioned for, so I really do love my role¨, said McClure. ¨I've had to kind of channel a lot of energy, a lot of gaslightingness, a lot of singing after school, so there's just a lot of practice," McClure said.

This year was different because of a competition for Ishma;  many were showing industriousness. The people picked were Isla McClure, Lamri Brock, Elise Porter, Shavonne Shores, Terrel Henderson, and Tyler Fears. The team worked hard to create a great musical, so the roles got cast well, and others thought so too.

"We're competing in Ishma this year, so she kind of put her best foot forward, so I'm excited to see how everyone portrays their character," McClure said.

The musical had many involved like 8th graders, who were intrigued and always cheering. From the singing to dancing skills, it made the musical fantastic. Shavonne Shores led the way with her amazing singing, capturing the love for Conrad Birdie, and Diamond Moreno killed it with her singing.

"I'm just gonna try to put as much energy into it because I gotta be very energetic and all over the place, and I feel like I can do that because I'm very energetic sometimes," Diamond Moreno said.
