The cheerleading team is ready to start their competitive season.

The cheerleaders are switching over from the football season to the competitive season.
The team plans to better themselves and work even harder this season because there is always room for improvement. They are ready for this season to be electrifying and intense.
They have bonded on different levels and can trust each other as a team, which is needed when you have flyers. Some new members have joined the team and made new bonds. First-year member and sophomore Carli Sawallisch is the tumbler and base who was quickly put on varsity with her experience in gymnastics and tumbling.
“I did tumbling for years, but I wasn’t interested in joining the school’s team. My friend asked me to, so she has a friend on the team, and I think I made a good decision. I have built unbreakable bonds with some girls on the team and can trust some of them more than anyone else. Sometimes the practices are hard because of the conditioning and the competitions with the pressure of being a base and tumbler, but having people I trust on the team has helped me build my confidence,” Sawallisch said.
“As it is my first year on the team, I try my best at every practice and competition to show my team and coach I’m worthy of my varsity spot. The competitive season has been rough so far, but it’s only pushing me and my team to better ourselves. I’m excited for what this season has in store for us,” Sawallisch continued.
The team helps build each other up and encourages each other to do better and practice harder. Each person has something they are better at than the other, and they encourage and teach each other how to better themselves.
“As of right now, we have been practicing hard to get higher skills and perfect our utilization. The team encourages and lifts each other as long as our coach is helpful when it comes to constructive criticism, and I think it helps each person so they can fix themselves for the better,” said fourth-year Kaylee Hallberg, who is a side base.
