Streamers have been blowing up recently with all age groups watching them. We wanted to know if students like them and how much they watch them compared to other media.
“When it comes to streamers, the only ones I watch are ones that deal with 2k24. I don’t watch streamers who play games I don’t have an interest in or play myself,” Dean Cantave said.
People watch streams of many different genres and games. There’s likely someone there for everyone to watch and enjoy.

“I really only watch streamers when I’m really bored or I have nothing else to do. I mainly do this because I know certain streamers that are fast-paced or always have something going on to make it entertaining,” Christian Wiley said.
With the vast number of streamers out there, of course, there are going to be big differences in personality among them. Some people might find one streamer funnier or more annoying than the next person.
“Most of the time, when I think of streamers, I think of loud and annoying people who just scream at their computers all day. I really just don’t know how people can sit down and watch that for hours at a time,” Kijuan Springfield said.
Streaming has recently become much more popular, and some people might still not understand why. When people see clips online of streamers, they get a bad narrative about them when not all of them are like that.
“If I had to pick a favorite streamer to watch, it would definitely be Kai Cenat. Every time I go into his stream, he has something going on, and he’s just naturally funny without overdoing everything,” Wiley said.
“One streamer people should check out if they like all genres is CaseOh. I’ve seen some clips of him online playing all types of games and interacting with his chat a lot. Most people like his streams based on what I can see in the comments and chat,” Cantave said.
The streamer alone isn’t all there is to streaming, either. Many streamers have their own communities inside their chat that you can join and get to know the people in.
“When I was watching this streamer for a while I decided to join his community discord. After I was there for a while I met some cool people and we became friends over time,” Springfield said.
