School fights occur anywhere and everywhere you go. They can start as something so little as a social media post or a comment about somebody and people are ready to rumble.

Social media is a big thing in our generation because we get a chance to post how we feel and what we like on the web. But kids go overboard with it and post negative things causing rumors to fly and eventually starting fights.

“Social media is a big factor in why fights start in school,” said sophomore Serenity Perez’ Peeples. High school kids are known for having a lot of fights due to social media and others feed into it causing it to blow up.

“Kids fight a lot of jealousy toward other people,” said sophomore Millar Mcallister.

Another thing that people tend to believe that the area and the activities they involve themselves in could be the cause. When kids involve themselves in those activities like gangs or drugs, they have to protect themselves from others and sometimes it occurs in school.

“Rumors are spread to instigate little arguments so they can see fights to post on social media,” said junior Jarren Crittenden. Teens are vulnerable to get involved in these type of situations to gain attention from their peers.

Kids are going to have conflicts they need to sit down and have and civil conversation about the situation before they take even farther. If people don’t have to take everything to social media every time it’s a conflict I believe it can lower the chance of fights in school.

“If you take social media away from teens the amount of problems that are going to be reduced would be tremendous,” said sophomore Adrianna Miller. I believe her on that quote because it’s too much drama that goes on social media and it constantly gets hyped up and problems start them drama then fights.

I believe it’s time for kids and teens to realize that little things that get posted on social media does not need to get blown up out of proportion which causes them to fight. Kids need to put their differences to the side for the better of their future because things happen and they need to see out their dreams and goals.
