The girls’ volleyball team has been off to a strong start, going 15-12, and 8-1 in conference play. While this ranks them first in the Southland Conference, students weighed in on where they are at and what they need to do to improve.

“I think they are gonna be conference champions and more this year because 8-1 is a great spot to be in,” XŹallen Lloyd said. “I feel good about their start because Crete has the best volleyball team in the conference,” Donyae Johnson added.
15-12 is a good record, but there is always room to improve. According to Johnson, he said they should narrow in on focusing, working hard, and practicing. Isiah Olatunde added they could ¨improve their communication on the court.”
Despite upsets against teams such as Rich Township, CMHS looks to finish off the year strong. They hope to build on their strong conference record and go far in the playoffs.
“Based on their conference record, I feel like they can make it pretty far this year,” Isiah Olatunde said. “I feel like we might go to sectionals this year,” added Tyler Redmond. “I think they will; if they are 8-1 in their conference right now, they really should,” commented Donyae Johnson.
Redmond said he has been keeping up with the Lady Warriors because they have been playing well all season. Lloyd echoed that sentiment as well, saying that he has been keeping track of the scores. As for Olatunde?
“I have been, I like the way they are playing. They have good drive and dedication,” Olatunde said.
This team has very high hopes and a bright future. Students like Olatunde can only wait and see how this all plays out.
