It is not easy being a high schooler; students have many responsibilities and regulations to sort out before they can get any free time.
Teens have shared some of their personal experiences and tips to help others manage their time and be ahead of all their schoolwork.
¨I honestly do not have a lot of free time on weekdays. I feel my life may be going in an ongoing circuit because I do the same things every day, but I can say that not having free time during weekdays could be a good thing. I say this because when I cut all of my plans off on the weekdays, I am better at understanding my work and better at getting my grades up as well,¨ said Malayah Thompson.
Although Malayah has mentioned that, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to make plans on weekdays, others may have different opinions. Others might say that having good time management skills can save you from encountering problems like failing grades and could cause you to fall behind academically.
¨ I don't see a problem with making plans on weekdays, especially if you know how to manage your time, but I would never recommend this to someone who doesn´t have good time management skills to make plans on weekdays. I feel that if you would love to go out on a weekday, you need to complete all your schoolwork at school so you do not have to worry about it later in the day,¨ said Briana Williams.
Having some time to yourself is very important, but also having time to complete you schoolwork and other academic things is very important as well. Kaden Leonard has mentioned that her schedule is a little bit unstable but she has a hold on it.
¨ I don't know how I do it. My schedule is messed up all the way, even my sleeping schedule, but somehow I still have time for free time and time for my school work. This school stuff could be so easy, all you have to do is play the game,¨ Leonard said.
Time management is necessary in high school but your academic success should always come first, especially if you love to do after-school activities and hang out with friends. When you put your academic goals first, you develop character development traits like self-discipline and a good time manager.
