By Amir Barton General Reporter The Chicago Bears' season this year was nothing short of amazing. This was the Bears' best season since 2018, despite being projected to finish last in their seed this year. They made it to the second round of the playoffs but came up short against the Rams by just 3 points (20-17).

This win was serious for their team because they had worked so hard, beating their rival Green Bay Packers by just four points in overtime with a last-minute touchdown pass to DJ Moore. The win was there; they just didn't play as hard as the fans knew they could.

“They get a chance to end the other team's season, as well as the other team trying to do the same, and they really have to focus and understand where they are,” sophomore George Butler said.

The Bears have come a long way, and for many years, they were nearly the worst team in the league. Finishing 5-12 last season and 7-10 the season before, most people may have thought they were going to be a usual year bust as they could hardly compete with the Raiders at the start of the season, but after improving their offensive line and with the addition of Head Coach Ben Johnson, they are thought to soon be a team to compete for a Super Bowl.

Some things they have done to show these projections were Caleb Williams' 3942-yard season, breaking the Bears single season record and being just shy of 4000, seven comeback wins in one season, making it a tied record since 1970, and finishing with an 11-6 record to win their division and end a seven-year playoff drought.

“The Bears will definitely have a better season next year. I think they can go further in the playoffs than they did this year; they just need to work on their first-half play. It's 100 percent their biggest holdback of the 2025-26 season,” Louis Frazier said

One of the best things about the Bears team is their QB’s ability to always make something work, like the last minute throw on fourth and eight to tight end Colston Loveland against the Green Bay Packers to save the game sending it to overtime in the first round of the playoffs. That will play a big part in the team's 2026-27 season if they improve their first half game play and their if Williams continues to develop and do the miraculous things he has been doing.

“Under pressure performance, he never folded under pressure, and he really just always found a way to make something happen when he had to,” Butler said.
