Crete-Monee star athlete Lauren Glover scored the first touchdown this season in their first win in Crete-Monee high school history

This moment not only hyped up her team but also started the beginning of a breakout season for the multi-sport standout, whose speed, energy and athletic prowess helped carry the Warriors through their first season ever. For Glover, that history-making play was something she’ll never forget.

“It was actually great, the feeling was surreal and it was fun playing with my friends,” Glover said.

But Glover’s impact didn’t end with that first touchdown. She quickly became one of the most versatile players on the roster, earning All-Conference honors by the end of the season. What made the accomplishment even more impressive was that she did it while balancing two other sports track and cheer and doing great in both.

“Uh, I can’t believe it did,” she said of receiving conference recognition. “It made me realize that I could definitely try new sports and I'm probably good at it. And I just believe that I definitely deserved all the conference awards.”

The confidence Glover gained from this season has opened new doors, including opportunities to compete on the next level. With her eyes set on the next chapter, she’s determined to continue carving out her place as one of Crete-Monee’s most accomplished athletes.

“Oh, yes, I'm definitely going to college for track and field,” Glover said.

Her passion for athletics is clear in everything she does. Whether she’s sprinting across the football field, performing on the cheer mat, or preparing for her upcoming track season, Glover approaches every sport with the same drive.

“I really love playing sports. I feel like it's a big personality trait for me,” she said.

Along the way, Glover has leaned on the support of her teammates, who have recognized both her leadership and the spark she brought to the team this season.

“I feel like she deserved it. She really was a big factor on the flag football team,” teammate Alaura King said.

King, who also earned All-Conference honors, described Glover as the emotional engine of the team, the player who kept everyone energized, focused, and believing in their potential.

“She brought a lot of energy, you know, she always, like, lifted up our teammates, so she brought the spirit for real,” King said.

And even with the accolades piling up, the friendly rivalry between the two stars remains alive. King, the young promising two-sport athlete coming out of Crete-Monee Highschool weighed her opinion on who’s better and flag football.

“Defensively, yes. Offensively? No,” she said.
