"I think we will do just as good or better with the returning players," said Means. "I feel like it will go well because we have a lot more experienced people, so that we can do better than last year," said Welcome.

Although Kayla Tomasevich didn't have the best season last year, she believes this year will be different and better.

"Personally, it wasn't the best; as a team, we had a pretty good season," said Tomasevich. "I believe this year will be a good season."

This year, the bowling team has a new coach, Mr. Zeidan.

"He seems new, first-year coaching; we must be patient, and help him coach us," said Means.

The three seniors gave excellent advice for athletes just starting bowling.

"You're not gonna be perfect even if you do everything you're supposed to; you can't control the pins at the end of the day," said Tomasevich.

"Take your time, focus on yourself, don't come to play. Actual sports: You can have fun, but take it seriously," said Means. "Know that bowling is a mental game; just have fun and relax," Welcome said.

Welcome, Means and Tomasevich don't just practice during practice. Out of practice, they work to become a better player.

"I go to bowling alleys and practice; I use different balls to find the best ball for me and learn it," said Means. "I work on aiming the ball, trying to hit my marks," said Welcome. "I stay after practice to get extra reps in," said Tomasevich.

"Always know wherever your arm goes, the bowl is gonna go, don't rush, pay attention to how you're standing," said Means. "Stay relaxed and try new things, figure out new things, and if it doesn't work, don't get frustrated," said Welcome. "Practice, even the small little drills, can make the biggest difference," said Tomasevich.

The girls have different reasons for why they started bowling.

"My dad, he bowled and got me into it," said Welcome. "My dad, I've been bowling since 2014. I was in a league before I moved and transferred to Crete," said Means. "At first, it started as a joke, and then I decided just to go with it," said Tomasevich.

Last year, Crete Monee's bowling team placed second in the conference. Welcome and Means all believe this year, they can get first place.

"I think it's a little too soon to say, but last year we got second place, so I believe we have the potential to get overall first place," said Means. "I feel we have the potential to get at least 2nd for sure because our biggest competition is the Thorn schools(Thornwood, Thornton, and Thornridge are combined)," said Welcome.
