Students shared their opinions on this year’s school lunch menu.

Pizza is a favorite among students at lunch, but some would prefer a wider selection.
Some students like pizza as an alternate option if they don’t like what is being served that day. Julian Weisinger thinks the school should also mix mozzarella sticks with lunch.
“The pizza is good, and they have a variety of different pizzas, and it hits the spot, but they should add mozzarella sticks,” Weisinger said.
Joseph Lewis and Treymond Hendrix added their thoughts on what they should serve.
“They shouldn’t stop serving pizza because I like it, but they should serve seasoned food,” Lewis said. “My favorite thing they serve is the pizza, but if I could, I would like chicken wings,” Hendrix said.
Students also think the vending machine should also be open during school hours.
“Yes, They should 100 percent have it open. The school would make a lot of money,” Hendrix said. “They should have The vending machines open during school hours because I would like to buy snacks if I get hungry, and I could get more food to eat,” Lewis added.
Some students think we aren’t getting enough food because they would still be hungry after lunch.
“I don’t think they give enough food because I see other people grab other people’s treys, doubling the amount they eat there, or I wouldn’t have to do that if there were enough,” Lewis said. “I feel Like the school can hand out more food for those who want more,” Weisinger said.
The school should consider involving the school and community to get opinions so the changes in the menu cater to dietary needs and provide healthier options. But students, parents, and staff will help refine and improve the program
According to CM201u Food Service, the mission of the Department of Food Service is to build a bridge for student learning and to impact their academic performance by providing nutritious, high-quality meals that are free to all students.
