The students at Crete Monee High School believe that there should be more club opportunities and options for them to join and participate in so that they can have better experiences in the field they want to go into.

CMHS has several clubs to choose from, but there are still extracurricular activities that students hope the school can add to their list.
“Crete should add a culinary club for those that enjoy cooking and would like to learn how to cook better and more complex meals and gain confidence in their food that they would someday cook for their families,” Laila Boulware said.

Clubs have been offered more recently, with last year adding a new part of the building, giving students new options to expand their electives at school.
“I feel like Crete should definitely add more options for electives and after-school activities because I like to be up and active during the day. I had metal working last year, but other than that, I haven’t seen anything new,” Lauren Glover said.

Students want to take electives, but sometimes the classes are full, and they have to find another option, try again next year, or maybe even have a chance of not getting into that class before graduation.
“I wanted to do broadcasting since freshman year because I like being on camera and like to record things I do, but I couldn’t get it there years ago because the class was too full, so I was never able to take broadcasting,” Glover said.

These extracurricular activities would give students more opportunities to make connections and build bonds with other students who share their interests.
“The students with not many friends could have these clubs to gain connections with people with the same interests as them or would want to do the same things as each other,” Jaden Mullings said.
Students believe that if more clubs were offered, it would attract more interested members, and this could affect how people look at the school, making it more appealing because it has clubs other schools do not have.
