The CMHS community is 50/50 on whether fast food is good or not. Most people say that fast food is bad for you because of the things they make the food with. According to the article, “Medical News Today,” evidence demonstrates that overeating commercial fast food products can negatively impact health in the short and long term.

Kadin Brown, a student at Crete-Monee, feels that fast food isn’t good for your health.
“What makes fast food bad for you is the things they put in it to make the food,” Brown said.
Student D’asyah Siller also feels that fast food is bad for you in the long run.
“In the long run, if you keep eating fast food constantly, you’re at a high risk of things like high blood pressure, diabetes, addiction, and more,” Siller said.
Most students at Crete Monee eat fast food daily, and here’s why.
“I eat fast food daily because I don’t know how to cook, and it’s easier for me to buy something after a long day of work, and fast food is very cheap depending on what you buy. That always works in my favor,”Aamia Burnett said.
Another Crete-Monee student mentions that she balances her fast food intake.
“I take breaks from fast food because I don’t always have an appetite, and eating the same thing multiple times can make you sick of something. Also, I try to balance out how much I eat fast food because it has a lot of side effects. One of the main side effects for me is addiction to fast food. So, I try my best to limit myself from eating out,” Brown said.
Some say that all fast food isn’t bad; it depends on what you get to order.
According to Medical News Today, “Not all fast food has negative impacts, and a person can make an informed choice by researching the nutritional content of particular fast food items.”
“Everything about fast food isn’t bad. You can order things like a salad, grilled chicken sandwich, Starbucks egg bites, and so much more,” Burnett said.
Some students at Crete-Monee voted on what fast food they would choose between McDonald's and Wendy's. McDonald's won the most votes.
McDonald's is significantly cheaper than Wendy's, so you can get more for less,” Brown said.
