“The re-opening of the school library.”

The library is officially back open for business. For many, the closure felt like a loss, leaving students without a quiet retreat during the school day. Now, the library is back, and the excitement is felt throughout many bookworms and hard workers alike.

“The library is a nice, quiet place to relax and concentrate,” said student Sofia Alonso. “I’m just excited for it to be back open.”

The reopening isn’t just about access to books; it’s about restoring a vital social and academic hub that serves as more than just a place to sit. It provides students with a place to escape the day-to-day struggles of schoolwork or to focus on something important.

“Yeah, I’m excited to rent books and have somewhere to go!” Judea Milton said, “To be able to read in a quiet area or study, and maybe join a club with friends.”

To promote this return, the library has established a new schedule and staffing structure to ensure students have consistent access to the library and its functions. It is currently open during the third period every day and the fourth period on Mondays and Fridays.

While many students visit for a quiet place to sit, the library’s primary mission is to support the school’s academic standards. Mr.Kenealy is working to ensure that students in all types of classes have the tools they need to succeed.

Mr. Kenealy will be working in the library.  “It really will aid their classes, their advanced classes, anything like that.” Mr.Kenealy said. “We have a number of reference materials there for whatever projects they’re working on.”
