Although prom has come and gone, students have shared what has made the best prom dates.

Asking around, I learned girls think a good prom date is when they get flowers, corsages, color coordinating, have a good promposal, spend time with the person you’re there for, and also give space to that person don’t stand around them all night be around your friends too.

“I think a good prom date is when you get a good promposal, and they actually spend time with you rather than ignoring you the whole prom,” said Wendi Hernandez.

Students then told me what they think makes a good girl prom date is when they are respectful, dress nicely and appropriately, maybe even gift-giving, and just overall try their best to show out and make them look like a good couple. What makes a good boy prom date is when they give gifts, gift flowers, and corsages, are on time, take their time, and do not rush.

“When the time I hope my prom date comes is respectful and good manners,” said Victoria Santiago

Most students think David Fears and Morgan Gillespie are the best prom date for this year’s prom. They seem to be some of the school’s favorite freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior couples. Students said they are really favored when it comes to couples.

“I think Morgan and David are gonna win because they’re one of my favorite couples out of all the couples running for prom queen and king,” said Ericka Walker

David asked Morgan to prom on April 23 by a poster in the field house that said “I know this may seem like a long jump but will you go to prom with me” he chose these words because she runs track for the school. They are having a prom send-off to celebrate their prom with friends and family before they go off to prom on May 24. The couple has been preparing for this day for quite some time, trying to get everything together and sorted out to make sure everything comes together nicely and overall comes out perfect with no mistakes on their special day. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Morgan and David didn’t go to prom last year, so they are going to prom together for the first time. So, hopefully, their day goes as planned and is picture-perfect. Morgan and David’s younger siblings Tyler and Malcolm are also routing for them and wishing them the best outcome possible for prom, seeing how hard they have worked to prepare for this day and all the planning and stress that came with it.

“I hope my brother and Morgan have a great time at prom and really enjoy themselves. They are the best couple out there,” said Tyler Fears

“I hope it’s everything they wished for, and I’m so proud of both of them for everything they have done this year and for making it all the way to prom,” said Malcolm Gillespie.
