Where do you see yourself in the next ten years? This is a common question but also a very difficult one to answer.

Many people get stumped when asked this question, stating that they’ve never thought this far ahead. Today, students of Crete Monee High School answered this question, and the answers are very interesting.
“I don’t think some of my friends and I are still going to be friends when we go off to college. Why? Well, people drift apart; it’s just natural. I love my friends, but sometimes, not everything is going to last. My really close friends, though, are a different story; they know me really well, and I think we’ll be together for a good while,” freshman Angela Wilson said.
Friendships aren’t always going to last forever, but it’s good to at least have the memories that come with them. You can grow so much as a person just from the people you spend time with.
“I want to move out of Illinois when I’m older. I feel like there’s just too much to do, and staying in your hometown would hold you back. I’ve been working really hard to get good grades so that I can hopefully get some scholarships. I really want to travel the world and just explore different career paths. I hope to have some of my friends by my side, but I’m sure I’m going to make new ones, too,” Aaliyah Davis stated.
Taking a risk can be a good and bad thing. Some people stay in their home state for comfort and so they can visit their family and friends easily. But sometimes that’s not the case for everyone. Sometimes you need to just break apart from everyone to truly find who you want to be.
“I really am excited to get out of this school. Only a couple of days left. I think in ten years, I will hopefully become a nurse, have a child, and be engaged. That’s wishful thinking of course. The future is untold; anything can happen, and that’s why life is so fascinating. That anything and everything is really out of your hands, So even if I don’t go towards my idles, I hope everything still works out fine, and I’m close to my dreams,” stated Maybell Crowsworth.
Being realistic with yourself is always a good thing, but most people aren’t able to do it. Knowing what you want to do and making sure that you can take the right steps towards that is important, and you should always start thinking about that early in your life.
