There are a lot of different player personalities on the field for each football player. Players can be hotheads, materialistic, flashy, cocky, ect. Sometimes you can tell what players are the way they act or seem as.
“Um, I see myself as a leader, because you know, sometimes you have to put people in their place. And just to step up and be the bigger person,” said sophomore Quarterback Clyan Hampton.
Leaders are for sure going to be successful in life. People go a long way from being a leader so keep it up.
Team chemistry can most definitely affect the way the team plays as a unit. The underclassmen can probably relate to having minimum team chemistry, but varsity players should have high intentions and expectations. So they have to have high teammate chemistry.
“On sophomore we play around a lot, but when it comes to game time we are very close. And on varsity, there isn’t no playing around; we get straight to business,” Hampton said.
Basically chemistry is key. Crete-Monee has some of the best, which is probably why they always make the playoffs.
So that begs the question, “How often does Crete-Monee’s football team practice?”
“We practice everyday, then have a game Fridays and Saturdays. But at the end of the day, we get better,” Clyan said.
That also leaves the question, “Since our team practices every week day and sometimes weekend days, and practice makes perfect, is that the reason we only had one loss?”
When it comes to football, a lot of people have a compassion for the sport. It is a life-long dream to make it to the NFL.
“I have always loved football since I was a kid, and I played it ever since,” said sophomore Cornerback Armani Carr.
It takes heart, dedication, and effort to be noticed for your talents to be discovered.
Players are somewhat cocky when it comes to the sport, as they talk about how good they are, and how they are going to win a state title. But what they really talk about are their records.
Many players have their own number one supporter. It can be anybody including a father, a mother, any type of relative or someone significantly close like a girlfriend.
“My father is my number one supporter. He is there at all my games, everything. He is just an involved black father,” said sophomore Wide Receiver Wilijohonel Evans.
People vary in many different sports, and are involved in many different activities. But sometimes people just want to quit a sport for another sport.
“I don’t plan on playing football next year because I tend to just stick to basketball because it’s my favorite sport, and I love playing it,” Evans said.
You can be good at a lot of things, but if you are not following your heart, what’s the point?
But some people try different things to make sure they have more options in case such and such does not work out.
