Crete-Monee High School offers a gaming club that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2-4.
Freshmen Joshua Lafferty and Jaylin Luellen had some things to say about gaming club.
"I think gaming club is fun, and it’s like a good way to relieve your stress after being at school. It’s really fun because everyone enjoys different genres of games and it’s a mix of different kinds of people and games," said Luellen.
Jaylin thinks that the best way to play a game is PC, but said he thinks out of PS4 or Xbox, he has to choose Xbox.
"I think Xbox is better because the console physically just looks better than the PS4, and I think Xbox Live is much cheaper than the PS4’s Playstation Plus. And when I was younger I had an Xbox 360, and I can just remember when Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 came out. I just remember coming home everyday and running and going to play it. So I kind of already have a tie and connection towards Xbox," Luellen said.
Lafferty said that he felt the complete opposite, and believes that PS4 is better than Xbox. He also said that PC is not better than any sort of console.
"PS4 controllers are more comfortable and actually have a grip on their controllers. And PS4 players get a lot of exclusive games. PS4 players get better holiday sales on their games as well," Lafferty said.
Luellen says that his favorite game is Fortnite, and also believes it to be the best game of all time.
"It’s my favorite game because it’s always changing and there are weekly updates to the game. Almost every 60-90 days the game completely changes up and gets a brand new update that includes new points of interest, weapons and skins. And to add on top of all that, other great things in the game are 100 percent free. It’s also cross compatible with PS4 and Xbox," Luellen said.
Unlike Luellen, Joshua said that his favorite game switches up often. He said that his favorite game currently has to be Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
"It’s my favorite game because it’s fun and competitive, it has a lot of different game modes, and different kinds of selective options to suit every kind of player’s play style. It’s a multiplayer game that might be getting cross compatible gameplay between PS4 and Xbox," Lafferty said.
Jaylin said that Gaming Club is pretty perfect the way it is, but could be improved by adding more games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Madden. He also suggested having the club moved to a bigger room.
"There’s a lot of us in the room and sometimes it tends to get a bit hot and crowded. And I think there should be a rotation schedule for the TVs because sometimes people argue over which system is gonna be playing on what TV. So I think it could work like the Wii on Mondays and then the PS4 on Thursdays," Luellen said.
Jaylin also thought the club should meet Mondays through Thursdays and that the gamers should have extended time. Those interested should see club sponsor Mr. Yousef for more information.
