By Kennedi Sykes News Editor Senior Hassan Hillard, an inspiring, hard-working, and all-around remarkable student, is significantly impacting the Crete-Monee community.

Hassan is one of Crete-Monee’s most involved students throughout the school. To start, Hassan put his efforts toward helping change the dress code and obtain a little more freedom in how students express themselves. Seeing how frustrated students were with the current dress code, Hassan encouraged students to find an alternate idea versus protesting like many others insisted on doing.
Therefore, Hassan decided to take the stand and went before the school board to express his and the rest of the CMHS student body’s frustration with the dress code at hand. Within the positive route, Hassan could obtain a few exceptions to the dress code.
“I would say Hassan should be recognized for his effort in making Crete a better place through his involvement in student government and student-led activities,” senior Timothy Watson said.
“Hassan is a very people-oriented person, and it’s inspiring to see that someone takes time out of their day to help those around them in hopes to make an impact, which is why I believe he’s good for a student feature,” Senior Cararea Hinojosa said.
Hassan is one of the most involved students here at Crete-Monee, and seeing how much of an impact he leaves on students is inspiring.
Although Hassan will be graduating this Spring, it is safe to say he has had a significant impact on the students, let alone staff members.
“Hassan has many characteristics that make him a good fit for the magazine feature, let alone a student leader in which he is hard-working, determined, persevered, and self-assured, “ Watson said.
