The junior student government held a junior lock-in on April 17 from 7 pm to 12 am at CMHS. The junior class was rewarded for taking the ACT.  They enjoyed pizza, snacks, drinks, games, movies, and music.

Junior class president Nicole Lomax and another student, Elise Porter, thought of the event with the rest of the junior government. All the juniors in the student government helped with planning and decorating. Three people were able to take gifts home from a raffle.

The outcome of this event was spectacular. One hundred thirty juniors came to this event and had the time of their lives. Some students want this event for their senior year.

Junior Nicole Lomax is the class president for the juniors, and she said she plans to do two lock-ins for her senior year. She’s planning it due to the outcome, and many students want it next year.

“A student brought the idea to me, saying that we should do it for our Junior Year. After that, I worked with my team, making sure that Lock In was accomplished,” said Lomax.

Junior Carli Sawallisch described the lock-in as fulfilling because it was fun, energetic, and relaxing. Sawallisch said she made memories with her friends and hung out with them all night.

“More activities and games to get everyone involved, like competitions,” said Sawallisch. She said this would have made the lock-in better next time.

Junior Yuri Nooner said the lock-in was fun, and the best parts were the raffle and the open gym basketball. He also said the movie was amazing, but wished it was in the auditorium.

Nooner said he would go if the student government decided to do this event for senior year because it was good. “It was nice doing something with all my friends and good hanging out with them,” he said.

Junior Sarah Muehlberg said the lock-in was fun. She enjoyed spending time with classmates, and everyone seemed to have a great time and get along.

“The best part of the lock-in was spending time with my friends, specifically face painting,” said Muehlberg. She said if she could change one thing about the lock-in, it would be having extra water because they were all gone.

Muehlberg said the event was chill because everyone seemed to love it, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. She said her favorite movie, White Chicks, was the movie played.
