Junior Marquis Love, also known as Sackadoya, one of the many talented upcoming musicians here at Crete-Monee, is starting to get noticed for his lyrical talent.

“My boy Doya -- his rapping is really there. You can tell through his songs that he has the potential to be bigger than he is now. Everything is on point, and he stays on beat. Featuring Marquis in the school magazine would have a good look on Crete, showing others that each student has potential and deserves to be seen, let alone can make it out Crete,” said Junior Ivory Phillips.
Marquis has been making music for around three years. It all started during quarantine where he attempted to find something fun to do while the worldwide pandemic was happening.
“I have been rapping for about three years and some change. I started during quarantine in the house [when I was] bored with nothing else to do [and] looking for something fun,” Love said.
Prompting that during the pandemic, Marquis found music as an “outlet from his boredom, which he had only gone up since then. More importantly, Marquis has been noticed not only in Crete-Monee but also on social media platforms, including being posted by “The Official Page Of Chicago Rap” on the Instagram platform, praising him for his flow that left them speechless.
“I think the thing that makes Marquis special is his lyrics. Most people aren’t able to stay on beat and maintain a good flow while trying to keep up with the beat, but when he does it, it’s like you know he has potential,” Phillips said.
“I feel like Marquis is an example of the different talents around Crete. More importantly, he’s an example of how much a person can begin to make an impact and soon become a bigger one. His music really motivates you. Listening to his music makes you wanna follow in his steps or do something greater and make a name for yourself,” said junior Jhe’srRodney Hall
This shows that each student within our school has the potential to become something bigger than they are now. We can see through talents within Crete that each student is unique and deserves to be noticed.
