Teacher Appreciation Week is when we come together as a school community to honor and celebrate the amazing educators who shape our lives. This year our school went above and beyond to show our gratitude to the teachers who work tirelessly to support and educate us.

“I wrote my Spanish teacher a note and made her a bracelet with bright colors for Cinco de Mayo,” said Nakerra Hollens.

The week kicked off with a heartfelt assembly where students shared touching stories of how their teachers made a difference in their lives. It’s incredibly moving to hear about these educators’ impact on their students, especially the seniors, inspiring us all to express our appreciation in our unique ways.

“I don’t really have a favorite teacher, but I would say Mr. Humpfrey is a staff I really like. He understands me from a different point of view,” said Joshua Porter

Throughout the week, the school was buzzing with excitement as students, parents, and staff came together to show their gratitude. From handwritten notes expressing heartfelt thanks to small acts of kindness like bringing in coffee and treats for the teachers, the outpouring of love was truly heartwarming.

“I wanted to thank my algebra teacher, Mr. Spacht. I like the way he teaches. I feel like the extra help he gives me helps,” said Khalila Miles

As the week ended, there were tears of joy, laughter, and a sense of deep connection as we came together to celebrate the incredible educators who dedicated their lives to shaping the future.

“I feel like we have teachers that really care about the youth having a good education and they want us to have a better view of the future because they care about us,” said Hisan Hillard.

Teacher Appreciation Week reminded us all of the power of gratitude and the importance of recognizing our teachers’ hard work and dedication. It was a week filled with love, appreciation, and a renewed sense of respect for the incredible individuals who inspired the seniors to learn and grow every day.

“Most of the time, students don’t like to show teachers their appreciation not on purpose, but we just do not know how to show real appreciation,” said Marcus Brown

In the end, Teacher Appreciation Week wasn’t just about saying thank you; it was about recognizing teachers’ profound impact on our lives and showing them the love and appreciation they truly deserve. It was a week of celebration, connection, and gratitude that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

“It is sad being a senior leaving the teachers that left a real impact on my life, and I can say they really taught me something in life that I can say I miss,” said Shatiasha Taylor.

Just creating a nice, organized group gift from the class to show collective gratitude towards your teachers can show how you all want to show appreciation as a class.
