Homecoming fills the school with excitement, from the school spirit in the halls to the crowd that’ll come together under the Friday night lights. With the atmosphere vibrant and the crowd packed, the Warriors topped Rich Township 56-6 in front of a crowd dressed head to toe in neon.

“My favorite thing about the homecoming game is being able to play and experience those moments with the guys on the football field. A lot of people will come out, and I know the game will be packed with high energy,” senior Kamal Bryant said
Homecoming football brings a different energy to the field as players prepare to compete in front of a crowd and represent the school on one of the season's biggest nights.
“A big difference between the homecoming game and regular games is that I feel like way more of the community and more people in general come out when it's homecoming. I love when the stands are packed,” senior Melvin Saunders said.
With the stands filled, good spirit, good energy, and the community out, homecoming creates an atmosphere that makes the game feel even more special for the players and fans. The band added to the excitement with a lively performance that energized the crowd even more.
“The student section had so much energy Friday night, and a lot of people came and participated in the spirit week theme, neon lights. The fireworks at the end topped it off, but the homecoming game's atmosphere was different from a regular game,” Marisa Marbury said.
Throughout the week, the football team knew that, even though it was homecoming, they couldn’t treat the game like a joke or get distracted by other things. Coaches reminded the players to stay focused on the game, or they'd lose to a team they shouldn’t. Coaches said things like, “If you guys continue to think you're gonna walk all over and they don’t do anything back, you’ll lose to a team like Rich Township, whom we don’t lose to.
“To win this game and continue for the rest of the season, the team will have to put their emotions to the side and come to play ball. When we all do our job and play together, the only thing left to do is win,” junior Isaiah Jordan said.
From the sidelines to the stands, homecoming week will leave students and staff with memories to cherish.
“My last homecoming game was a success. We ended with a victory, and I started to realize this will be the last few times my teammates and I will play together, so I wouldn’t want to win with another group of guys,” senior August Labrance said.
