When asking some students at Crete-Monee about their favorite artists, most answered with rappers or drill artists. The rap community seems big here, as many students listen to them and actively sing lyrics in the hallways.

"I like G Herbo as I've listened to him for a while. His way of rapping about having no regard and mainly the disrespect aspect," student Frank Schubbe said.

Even when asking students about upcoming artists they like or recently discovered, they also listed more rappers. None of the artists given had anything to do with the genres of R&B, country, jazz, or rock. The rap genre is popularized in our community, and lots of students listen to the same things.

"One upcoming artist I found was DowmBanFuni. I found him because of PlayBoi cart and then started listening to it heavily since then," student Issac Valadez said,

Most of the time, people find other artists, mainly the famous rap artists at the time. Just like popular rap artists, here are some popular TV shows teenagers are watching and if they would recommend them to other people as well.

"One of the shows I'm watching is Lucifer on Netflix. It is a show about love and drama in a somewhat real-world aspect about demons and humans. You should watch it if you are into the romance aspect of shows and want a good laugh in general," said Dean Cantave.

Many of the shows students watch involve supernatural powers but still deal with a real-life basis for their shows. The characters are always relatable to you. Drama shows aren't the only things people are watching, though.

When asked about anime, students have a positive outlook on the genre and would recommend it to others when asked if they would or wouldn't.

"I've been watching anime since I was younger, around 5-7. At the moment, I'm watching JJK(JuJitsu Kaisen), and I enjoy it. I would recommend it to others because there's something out there for everyone they would enjoy," student Shane Shores said.

Generally, most students enjoy today's intense hip-hop culture. At the same time, the shows they watch involve some fundamental life aspects.
