The seniors at Crete-Monee High School had high expectations for this year's pep rally because it’s their last year.

“I expected the pep rally to be thrilling, something to look forward to,” Adonis Ferrell said.

On the day of the pep rally, many students came together wearing neo and volunteering in spirit week to show their excitement. As the pep rally began, the shouts of joy echoed across the room from each class; students were prepared and ready to engage.

Activities included dodgeball, hoco court introductions, the band playing outside the pep rally, the cheer team, obstacle courses, and a dance performance the football team joined. When that happened, multiple students commented it was the best part of the assembly; it had everyone laughing and recording.

“I’m excited to see the energy all around, and hopefully see a

student vs. staff game,” Linda Cobbins said.

The hosts of the pep rally, Terrell Henderson and Tyler Fears, knew how to control the crowd and build the hype. It felt really good to see everyone laugh and have fun in my class for one last time all together before we graduate and go our separate ways.

The best thing about Crete-Monee pep rallies is that they always bring us together as a whole, no matter our differences. The games are always new and attention-grabbing for everyone, especially student vs. staff; it’s entertaining to see our favorite staff go against our friends.

Before the pep rally, the dance, color guard, and band team walked through every hallway performing, grabbing students’ attention.

“I will be participating in the pep rally; stay tuned,” Tianna Jones said.

Senior Kamal stated that he “expects the pep rally to be really prepared and organized.”

Those exact words came true; Terrell and Tyler had everything lined up so perfectly, they knew what games to pick to get everyone's attention as planned, including homecoming court. As they walked out, the students in the gym cheered, each class happily screaming for their friends.

“My favorite part is them asking who's the loudest class,” Cobbins said.

When that part of the assembly came, it got everyone out of their seats. Each class debated and went back and forth to see who was the loudest.
