“Blind dates can be exciting cause you don’t know what’s in store for you and nerve-wracking cause now you have to start over and prepare yourself for the questions,” Neeah Deere said.

Blind dates in high school are like pop quizzes: You never really know what you’re walking into, and sometimes, you wish you stayed home. They can be funny or surprisingly meaningful, from mismatched interests to awkward silences.

Blind dates are a leap of faith, an adventure where two strangers meet with nothing but possibility between them. In a world driven by swipes and blind dates, they bring back the thrill of genuine first impressions. Whether arranged by friends or fate, they offer a refreshing reminder that sometimes, love begins with the unknown.

“The main importance of a blind date, in my opinion, is how the person carries themselves,” Taniyah Riddle said.

Blind dates can be exciting and offer a chance to meet someone outside your social circle, often leading to unexpected connections. They take the pressure off choosing someone yourself and can be a fun way to step out of your comfort zone. Ultimately, they’re a gamble that can spark something great or make for a good story.

“I’ll recommend going on a blind date because it sounds like a fun thing to try something new when it comes to talking about a love story,” Riddle said.

The first impression on a blind date is incredibly important, as it sets the tone for the entire experience. Since both people are meeting for the first time without prior connection, body language, attitude, and appearance, all play a key role in forming instant opinions.

“A pro is that the person looks good and yall have similarities; the cons can be the person not attractive to you and yall not getting along,” Deere said.

Blind dates can be both full of excitement and nerve-wracking. The excitement comes from the mystery of meeting someone new without knowing what to expect, which can feel like the start of an adventure. But that same uncertainty can also cause anxiety, as there’s pressure to make a good impression and fears about awkward silences or mismatched vibes.
